Ken Wyner Journal
Biography:
Ken Wyner got his first camera when he was 12 from his father and sparked his love for photography. He started selling hand tinted black and white prints at the age of 17. Ken later spent 18 months traveling in Afghanistan and England where he took photos that were later shown in a gallery in Washington. After Ken joined a host of infamous artists and then desired to become commercially successful to expand his creative horizons. In 2000 he had his largest exhibit to date consisting of 40 photos from the "Washington Dream" series.
I like this one because of the color palette and it looks busy, like there are multiple lights moving.
I like this one because it looks surreal. I'm not really sure what it is, so it's cool that he made this from a real scene.
I like this one because it reminds me of Washington DC and america and its simplistic in the way that it only really features the American flag in it.

Photo Montage Journal
Who is David Hockney?
David Hockney is an artist born in 1937 in Yorkshire. He attended the Bradford School of Art and received traditional training in still life paintings, portraits, and landscapes. In 1960 he won the Junior Section Prize in the Young Contemporaries exhibition at the Tate gallery, and found his model Mo McDermott.
Comparison of Hockney's photography and art:
Across all of Hockney's work there is a common theme of mainly landscapes, he likes to paint still life paintings. He uses alot of bright colors in his paintings, but incorporates more black and white into his photography. His paintings are all "normal" settings with unlikely elements like a rainbow indoors or upside down people. His paintings remind me of picasso. His photographs capture normal scenes but he uses camera angles and different levels of zoom to make them all unique and different.
Additional Facts:
The most any of Hockney's work has sold for was 7.9 million dollars, it was a depiction of an art collector in a hot pink dress.
